UI / UX Designer (m/f/d)

Remote in Germany

Technology alone doesn’t build a company. Great UX does. wailand is building an AI platform for industrial engineering—highly complex processes, heterogeneous toolchains, real technical depth. But if engineers don’t understand the platform intuitively, don’t trust it, and don’t enjoy using it, it won’t scale. For us, UI/UX isn’t a “frontend topic.” It’s strategic. As a UI/UX Designer, you play a key role in whether our platform becomes just another technical tool—or the system engineers actually love to use.

Your mission
  • You translate complex AI and engineering logic into clear, intuitive interfaces.

  • You design workflows that reflect real industrial processes—without unnecessary complexity.

  • You build and evolve a consistent design system for a scalable B2B platform.

  • You work closely with engineers, AI developers, and architects to integrate UX from day one—not as an afterthought.

  • You structure information architecture for complex contexts (agents, toolchains, data flows, variants).

  • You conduct user research with real engineers and validate hypotheses iteratively.

  • You define interaction patterns for AI-supported systems with a focus on transparency, feedback, trust, and control.

  • You ensure usability, clarity, and performance are never compromised.

What you bring
  • Several years of experience in UI/UX design for complex software products (ideally B2B or SaaS).

  • A strong portfolio that shows how you make complex systems understandable.

  • Proficiency with tools like Figma and experience building scalable design systems.

  • Solid UX methods: user interviews, usability testing, wireframing, prototyping, journey mapping.

  • You can understand technical concepts—even if you’re not an engineer.

  • You think in user journeys, not just screens.

  • You ask hard questions when something feels unnecessarily complicated.

  • You know great UX reduces support effort, increases adoption, and drives growth.

  • Ideally, experience designing data-driven interfaces or AI-supported products.

If you believe excellent usability isn’t a nice-to-have, but the key to real product adoption—then we should talk.

Email us at career@wailand.io. Show us products you’ve made easier to understand—systems that would have stayed too complex without you.

We believe diverse teams build better products. That’s why we welcome people with different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. What matters to us is competence, ownership, and attitude—regardless of gender, origin, religion, sexual identity, age, or disability.
