Our mission is to strengthen Western industry with world-class engineering technology.

Our goal: to technologically strengthen Western industry

Our goal: to strengthen Western industry technologically

Our mission

The variant creation process determines how quickly customers get their products—and how many products a company can deliver at scale. Yet in many industries it is still slow, fragmented, and heavily manual, even after decades of digitization.

We believe:

To stay competitive, Western industrial companies must be able to derive product variants faster, more reliably, and with far less manual effort.

This is especially true in high-complexity industries — from industrial machinery to medical devices and defense.

We are convinced:

If Western industrial companies want to remain competitive, they must be able to derive product variants more quickly, robustly, and with less manual effort.

This is especially true for industries with high technological complexity—from mechanical and plant engineering to medical technology and the defense industry.

We are a team with complementary backgrounds in engineering, software, and industrial projects—and with extensive experience in the exact areas we address. Here you will get to know a part of the wailand team:

Dr. Martin Peters

CEO & Founder

Martin holds a PhD in Computer Science and has spent over a decade working at the intersection of industry, IoT, and software-driven transformation.

As co-founder and Managing Director of com2m GmbH, he built and scaled an IoT company and successfully established it in the market. After the exit, he joined adesso SE, where he led the setup and strategic growth of the Manufacturing Industry business line, growing it to more than 300 experts.

His focus sits at the intersection of software architecture, product development, and go-to-market. He combines experience building scalable software products with a deep understanding of how industrial customer organizations operate.

Dr. Patrick Kübler

CEO & Founder

Patrick is a mechanical engineer with a PhD in production engineering. For years, he has focused on one central question: Why is it still so effort-intensive to quote, engineer, and plan highly variant products?

At Fraunhofer and adesso SE, he led production and digitalization projects for more than 30 industrial companies — from manufacturing and assembly planning to strategic initiatives at executive level. Along the way, he repeatedly saw how much manual work variant creation still requires, and how difficult it is to reuse product knowledge systematically.

Most recently, he built and scaled adesso SE’s cross-industry production business. He brings together engineering expertise, industrial practice, and IT — and designs solutions that don’t just work technically, but are actually adopted in day-to-day operations.

Let’s talk

We work with companies that build highly variant products and want to rethink variant engineering from the ground up. If you’d like to explore where automation can create the biggest impact in your organization, let’s talk.
