At wailand, we’re creating a platform that rethinks engineering processes end to end—across tools, with real context, and with agent-driven automation. As a Software Architect, you play a key role. You define the technical foundation of the platform and make the decisions that shape it: data flows, system integrations, agent orchestration, and how everything comes together into a robust, scalable architecture. If you’re motivated not just to document architecture, but to build it from the ground up, this role is for you.
Your mission
You define the overall architecture of our AI platform—from the integration layer and data models to the runtime environment for agent-driven systems.
You design a scalable architecture for heterogeneous engineering toolchains (CAD, PLM, requirements, simulation) and establish a consistent interoperability strategy.
You design robust data and context architectures (structured and unstructured data, semantic models, knowledge graphs, vector-based retrieval).
You design the orchestration of agent-based components—including tool integration, state management, and observability.
You make fundamental technology decisions (frameworks, deployment strategies, architectural principles) and ensure long-term maintainability.
You ensure scalability, security, multi-tenancy, and operability are built into the architecture from day one.
You work closely with AI engineers and domain experts to align architecture with real-world engineering processes.
You identify technical risks early and translate complex requirements into clear, actionable system designs.
What you bring
You have several years of experience designing complex, distributed software systems and have owned key architectural decisions.
You understand modern backend and integration architectures (microservices, event-driven systems, containerization, API design) and have applied them in practice.
You have experience designing data architectures for scalable platforms—structured and unstructured data, streaming, and persistence.
You can evaluate and design AI system architectures (LLM integration, RAG, orchestration, ML pipelines) and understand their limitations.
You can communicate technical complexity clearly—in documentation, diagrams, and discussions.
You make decisions and take ownership of them.
You give direct feedback and can engage in high-level technical discussions without ego.
You want to shape architecture—not just manage it.
